With Crowdpurr, you can choose from our preset selection of background music tracks to accompany your interactive Experience. The chosen music track will then continuously play on the Presentation View and directly on your participant's Participant Views.
With sound effects, your participants will hear fun audio feedback for various actions during an Experience. For example, participants will be notified when a new question begins and when they submit an answer to a question. For Trivia Games, a different sound effect will play depending on whether they've answered correctly or incorrectly. When various Viewer Controls are enabled, different sound effects are also designed to play.
With Bingo Games, a sound effect will play when participants mark a square on their Bingo Card or when they earn a BINGO.
Both the background music and sound effects can be configured to play either on the Presentation View, Participant View, or both. Additionally, any changes made to your sound configuration will update the Presentation View and Participant View in real time!
Can participants mute sounds on the Participant View? Yes, your participants can always mute any sound or background music from playing by choosing the Mute Sounds option directly on their Participant View. Background Music
Crowdpurr offers a fun selection of Background Music tracks you can add to constantly stream throughout your Experience. By default, the background music setting is disabled for new Experiences.
You can browse through and choose from the different music tracks available using the dropdown selection. For instance, you can select Happy Jingle for an upbeat atmosphere for your participants. Or, you can choose the Intense Quiz track for a more serious and competitive touch. When enabled on either view, the background music track will continuously play and loop throughout the entire Experience.
Background Music section in the Sounds tab
You can also configure which views should play the background music. You can choose to play the background music only on the Presentation View, Participant View, or both.
Alternatively, if you prefer not to play any background music at all, simply disable both the Play Background Music On Presentation View and Play Background Music on Participant View settings.
Will background music play over Question Media and YouTube videos? No, whenever a question has a YouTube video or a live stream embedded, the background music will pause when a participant clicks the unmute button of the video. The background music will resume once the YouTube video either ends, is re-muted, or the Active Question is updated.
Sound Effects
By default, Sound Effects are also enabled for newly-created Experiences. Sound Effects add a fun dynamic and enriching experience. Depending on the Experience Type, different sound effects will play based on the specific action taken during the live Experience.
For example, sound effects will play during the following actions:
Starting a new Active Question
Participants submitting either an incorrect or correct answer
The Question Timer running out
And many more!
Similar to the background music settings, you can also configure which display should play sound effects. You can choose to play sound effects only on the Presentation View, Participant View, or both.

Participants can access this setting by tapping on their player name located in the upper-right corner of the Participant View. Once participants have chosen the Mute Sounds option, this will prevent any background music or sound effects from playing on their device.
Will enabling Mute Sounds mute other media in the Experience? The Mute Sounds setting does not mute any Question Media such as YouTube videos or Embedded Streams.
Participants can always Unmute Sounds to continue hearing any background music or sound effects by clicking on their player name again and selecting the Unmute Sounds option. This will immediately resume playing any sounds enabled on the Participant View.
