Hide Vote Counts

When enabled, both the Participant View and Presentation View will hide how many actual votes were received while in Show Live Answer Results (A) view. Only the percentage of votes received for a particular answer will be displayed. This setting is useful if you wish to hide how many actual votes are being sent and how many actual participants are participating.

Do you have low participation in your event? If you feel you may have low participation, for example, this setting can hide that information by only showing percentages versus actual numerical vote counts.

Show Submit Button

Enabling this setting requires participants to press a Submit button when answering Multiple Choice questions. If this setting is disabled, participants simply need to press the specific answer option they wish to choose and their answer will automatically submit. By default, this setting is disabled.

Displaying a Submit button allows players to change their answer choice before choosing to submit. Hiding the Submit streamlines the answering process and can make choosing and sending an answer less confusing.

When is a Submit button required? Text Answer and Numerical Answer questions always require a Submit button because responses must be typed by your players first. After typing in the answer, they must press a Submit button to submit their answer.

Hide Question Numbers

By default, Polls will display a question number on each Active Question during the live Experience as the Hide Question Numbers setting is disabled. Enabling this setting will hide any question numbers from appearing on both the Presentation View and Participant View.

Show Answer Stats Bar

By default, Polls will display the Answer Stats Bar showing the total number of responses for each question shown on the Participant View and Presentation View. Disabling this setting will hide the Answer Stats Bar from appearing on both the Presentation View and Participant View.

Show Question Tabs on Participant View

The Show Question Tabs on Participant View option is only available if your Poll is set under the Crowd Controlled Mode. When disabled, the Crowd Controlled Mode game will run in a sequential format allowing players to answer questions one-by-one and in order, similar to the Host Controlled and Fully Automatic Mode.

If you enable the Show Question Tabs on Participant View setting, then this will display questions in groups of 5. Players would then be able to answer any question in any order they choose.

Hide Instructions on Participant View

By default, Polls will display a text box with instructions indicating how many questions the Experience has. However, enabling this setting will hide any instructions from appearing on the Participant View.

Participant Results Settings

These settings take effect after participants complete your Poll. Enabling either setting will show participants a Results Summary of their responses. The Results Summary shows players every question they answered. By default, both of these settings are disabled and the Results Summary is not shown.

If either setting is enabled, participants can see the Results Summary by clicking the Review Answers button, which will appear at the bottom of the Participant View after they answer the last question. It is also shown when the host "Finishes" the Poll from the Playback Controls on the Experience Dashboard.

Profanity & Review Settings

These settings allow you to review and filter incoming Text Answer responses from your participants. Text-Answer questions will have submitted answers that are typed in by your crowd (versus simply choosing pre-written multiple choice answers). Because of this, their typed responses can contain profanity.

Do I have to enable the profanity and review settings? Just because we offer Profanity & Review Settings doesn't mean you must use them. Most crowds aren't likely to try to input profanity into your Poll. However, some crowds are more prone to this (ahem, younger adolescent crowds!) Your mileage may vary depending on your crowd!

Normally, a submitted Text Answer will be shown on the Presentation View and Participant View to your crowd. So we provide these settings to either review incoming answers and/or automatically filter them to prevent displaying profane content.

Manually Review Text Responses

Enabling Manually Review Text-Responses will require you (the host) to review each incoming Text Answer before it is counted as a vote in your Poll. If you reject it, it will not be counted. If you approve it, it will be shown on the Presentation View and Participant View. You can also edit the answer and then approve it. By default, this setting is disabled.

You can read about this on Reviewing Text Answers For Profanity Before Displaying in our Help Center.

Auto Review Text Responses

Another option is to simply filter any words flagged by Crowdpurr as profanity in submitted Text Answer responses. Crowdpurr has an intelligent algorithm to identify profane words, phrases, and even numeral characters. Auto-Review Text-Responses will only take effect on answers with profanity in them. You can also configure what happens to incoming responses that contain profanity.

Auto-Review Options

These settings allow you to configure what happens to incoming Text Answer responses that have been automatically flagged as containing profanity.

Why can't I adjust these settings? The Auto-Review Options are only editable when your Poll is set to use the Auto-Review Text-Responses setting above.

Censor Flagged Posts

Enabling this setting causes any incoming Text Answer responses that have profanity to automatically be censored with "*****" in place of the profane text and then be automatically added as answers without the host needing to review them.

Reject Flagged Posts

Enabling this setting causes any incoming Text Answer responses that have profanity to automatically be rejected. This works the same as if you rejected the post by hand; that participant will not be able to enter another answer for that question, and it won't appear anywhere in the app. (i.e. Presentation View, Participant View, the Experience Dashboard under the Results Summary or Crowd Activity tabs, etc.)

Language Settings

Language Settings section

Language Settings section

This setting allows you to select which language the Participant View and Presentation View display. These are the only crowd-facing views in Crowdpurr. At this time, the Experience Dashboard is only displayed in English, unfortunately.

Are my questions and answers automatically translated? No, questions and answers must be written in the language you wish to display them. They are not automatically translated into the selected language.

Select Language

This sets the language for all labels and instructions that are read by your crowd. So if your crowd is French-speaking, you can set the Participant View and Presentation View to display all their labels and instructions in French. Currently, Crowdpurr supports sixteen languages with this feature.

To view the complete list of supported languages and to learn more about how Crowd Language works, check out the article Set Experience Crowd Language

Reset Experience

This button is a shortcut to resetting your Poll. Resetting your Poll will remove all responses from your crowd and set your Poll back to the Ready state. This is useful if you had previously tested or did a "dry run" of your Poll and want to make it ready for another test or your actual live event. Resetting your Poll using this button is the same as using the Finish and Reset buttons under the Playback Controls and clicking the Clear Crowd Responses button.

To reset your Poll, simply click on the red Reset button.

Reset Poll module after clicking the Reset button

Does resetting remove my questions and answers? No, resetting your Poll only removes your existing crowd responses and sets your Poll's status back to Ready. Your written questions and answers all remain so your Poll can be played again. However, your existing crowd responses will be permanently removed, so make sure they're either not important or that you've exported them as a CSV file before exporting.
