Crowdpurr is specifically designed to allow your crowd to participate on their mobile devices using the Participant View and for your crowd to follow along on a central projected screen at your venue called the Presentation View.
The Presentation View provides a centralized large-format reference for your crowd to follow along in addition to using their mobile devices. It is meant to be shown using a projector or on a display device like an HD television.

The Presentation View is designed to run at 1920x1080, the standard HDTV resolution, but other resolutions are supported such as 640x480, and all the way to 4K.
Connecting the Presentation View to a Projector or HDTV
To connect the Presentation View to a projector or HDTV, you must open the Crowdpurr Experience Dashboard on a web browser running on either a laptop or desktop computer with a "Video Output" port. The Video Output port is usually an HDMI, DVI, or VGA connector that can be connected to one of your projector or HDTV's "Video Input" ports.
We typically recommend using a modern web browser such as Google Chrome.
Using a Laptop Computer
Most modern laptops will have an HDMI Video Output port on the side that can be used to extend the "desktop" of your laptop to an external monitor, projector, or HDTV.
Using a Desktop Computer
To connect to a desktop computer, you will need to connect your projector or HDTV to either the main Video Output of the graphics card of the computer or to a secondary Video Output port of the graphics card. Many desktop computers now have graphics cards with multiple Video Output ports to support connecting multiple monitors for an extended desktop configuration.
Configuring Extended Desktop Mode
Upon connecting your projector or HDTV, you will need to configure your desktop into "Extended" mode so that the projector or HDTV will be treated as a second monitor. The following Help Center articles illustrate how to configure "Extended Desktop" mode on a Mac and Windows:
Integrating the Presentation View into an Audio-Video System
If your event is supported by an audio-video system, company, or vendor (e.g. an "AV-Desk", "AV Support Company", or "AV switcher"), they simply need to treat the Video Output port of your laptop or desktop computer as an incoming video signal at 1920x1080. The audio-video system can then be used to "switch" to the Presentation View at any time.
Opening and Displaying the Presentation View
Once you have your projector or HDTV connected and configured correctly, you should see an additional, extended desktop shown on the projector or HDTV.
Now complete the following steps:
- Open your web browser (Google Chrome is recommended for the best experience).
- Navigate to Crowdpurr (app.crowdpurr.com) and open the Experience Dashboard on your main monitor desktop (this is not the extended desktop shown on the connected projector or HDTV).
- Click on the large purple "Presentation View" button. This will open a new browser tab with the Presentation View.
- Drag the newly opened Presentation View browser tab over to your extended desktop that is shown on the projector or HDTV. You should see the window physically move between the two monitors.
- Finally, click the "fullscreen" button in the lower right-hand corner of the Presentation View. This will put the Presentation View in full-screen mode on your projector or HDTV and give the appearance of a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation without having the containing web browser visible
Your Presentation View is now successfully configured and displaying properly in fullscreen mode. You can press "Esc" on the keyboard to exit fullscreen mode at any time to close the Presentation View. Several other keyboard shortcuts are also useful while displaying the Presentation View.
