After creating your Poll, you'll be taken to the Experience Dashboard of your Poll.
Experience Dashboard
The Experience Dashboard is where you set up, edit, and run your Poll. It's the nerve center of your newly created Poll. It contains the Playback Controls box that allows you to Start, Pause, Stop, Reset, and Run your Poll. You also use the Experience Dashboard to edit your Poll questions, add new questions, edit Multiple Choice answers, and export your Poll's data. By default, a 10-second Countdown Timer is enabled.
For more information on the playback settings, see Poll Settings - Playback and Timing.
Before we start our Poll, let's make some adjustments to the question that was added from the Experience Setup Wizard.
Edit Your First Question
Scroll down to the blue Questions tab on the Experience Dashboard. Here you can see that Crowdpurr automatically added a Multiple Choice question. This question is shown on the tab as Question 1. Now, you simply need to edit the question.
Let's create a political poll (Yay for politics!). We're going to ask our crowd how they'll vote in the next election. Let's edit our first question to ask, "What political party will you vote for in the next United States Presidential Election?" Feel free to make up your own question(s) and answers instead of our examples. Simply click on the green Edit button with the pencil icon to the right of the question's text. This sets the question to Edit Mode and opens the question's edit panel.
You can then update the text of the question. After you're done, simply press the Enter key on your keyboard or click the green Save (checkmark) button to save the question.
Edit the Answers to Your First Question
Now that you've edited your first question, update each of the Multiple Choice answers.
Click on the Edit button with the green pencil icon to the right of each answer to put the answer into Edit Mode or simply click on the text field. You can now update the text of the answer and edit the answer's settings in the edit panel.
Let's change the first answer to the Democratic Party. When you've finished adding the text, simply press the Enter key on your keyboard or click on the green Save button with a checkmark icon to save the text.
Continue by editing the next three default Multiple Choice answers to:
- Independent Party
- Libertarian Party
- Republican Party
Adding More Questions and Answers
Now let's learn the two ways you can choose to quickly add a blank question to your Poll.
Adding a Blank Question on the Questions Tab
Once you've successfully edited your first question, let's quickly add a second question by clicking on the + button next to Question 1. This will instantly add a new question after the selected question as illustrated below.
Adding a Blank Question via Question Tools
Alternatively, you can also add a blank question from the gray Question Tools tab to the far right of the question tabs. This will open a pop-up containing a green Add Blank Question (+) button. Click on this button to add a new blank question to our Poll as the second question. This question will have default question text and 4 newly added answer options all with default text that we'll need to edit.
Let's edit Question 2 to ask, Who is your favorite all-time United States President?
After updating the question, you can now edit the four answer options to the following:
- Abraham Lincoln
- John F. Kennedy
- Ronald Reagan
- Barack Obama
Let's add one more political-themed question. Click on the Add Question (+)button one more time. This will add Question 3, which we'll edit to ask Who is your favorite all-time world leader? Now edit the answers to the following:
- Mother Teresa
- Nelson Mandela
- Dalai Lama
- Pope John Paul
Nice! We now have a Poll with 3 interesting questions.
Next Steps
Now that our questions are edited and ready to be voted on, let's learn about how your crowd joins and votes on the Poll. Go to the next step, Opening the Poll's Participant View.
