Before we run your Poll, we'll open up the Participant View to see what your crowd will see on their mobile devices and also play along when we test our Poll shortly. You can open up the Participant View on an actual mobile device (e.g. your mobile phone, your tablet, etc.) or you can open up the mobile client on a web browser tab on your desktop computer, laptop, or iMac. All devices are supported.
To open the Participant View, you can do so from one of the following:
From the Experience Dashboard
This is the easiest way to test your Poll while working in the Experience Dashboard to edit your questions. Simply click on the large blue Participant View button under the Crowd Views area of your Experience Dashboard.
This button will open up a test Participant View browser window on your desktop or laptop computer, which simulates how the Poll will look on smaller mobile devices. You can then have it open alongside your Experience Dashboard for testing.
An Experience Dashboard and test Participant View
During your actual event, your crowd may also access your Poll using the instructions displayed under the On Your Mobile Device section below.
On Your Mobile Device
Open up your mobile browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, etc.) on your mobile device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, etc.), and in the URL field, type in crowd.live. You will then be asked to Enter A Code. Simply enter the five-digit Poll Code from the Experience Dashboard.
The Poll Code on the Experience Dashboard
In this example, our code is TSKVF as shown on the Experience Dashboard. Please note, your Experience Code will be different. Please see your Experience Dashboard.
Signing Into Your Poll from the Participant View
Once you have opened the Participant View, nothing needs to be entered by your participants. By default, your Poll will run anonymously, meaning no identity or lead capture formation is collected by your Poll; however, you're welcome to set a Nickname or First Name to be required and entered by each participant. You can do so by enabling this lead capture field via the purple Leads tab on the Experience Dashboard.
For more information on how to collect lead capture from your participants, please have a look at this article Collect Lead Capture Data From Your Participants
When the Participant View is opened, a message will inform participants that Voting Will Begin Shortly. All instances of the Participant View by all participants will be in a waiting state until you start your Poll.
