Yes! Crowdpurr offers a trivia format called Survivor Trivia that is similar to HQ Trivia or "Last Man Standing" style trivia gameplay. In this mode players keep playing until they answer a question incorrectly. The last person standing is the winner! Yes! Each one of your trivia rounds will be a separately created trivia game. You can then configure how you want the overall scoring to be calculated across your various trivia games. You can then "move" your players between your various trivia rounds when one round ends and another should begin. Yes! Crowdpurr is designed for you to practice as much as you want in order to learn the platform. We want you to feel comfortable ahead of your actual event. This is why we give you 30 days with every monthly upgrade.

There is no consequence for practice runs. You can practice as much as you want on any trivia game. You can play through and easily reset your trivia game when finished so it's ready to go for another practice run or your actual event. Resetting simply removes all existing crowd responses, scores, and rankings and puts your trivia game in the initial state so it's ready to go again. It does not remove your added questions or answer options. There's no way to "mess up" your trivia game by practicing so feel free to experiment. If in doubt, reset!

You use a poll to ask your crowd opinion-based questions like, "What's your favorite aspect of our workplace?" or "Who is your favorite co-worker?" You can then show your crowd how they answered each question; however, with Crowdpurr trivia games, each question has a Correct Answer. Such as "How many donuts are in a baker's dozen?" or "Who sang the hit-song 'Thriller'?" Your crowd is then awarded points for submitting correct answers. You can also show your crowd the live results for how everyone answered, and the correct answer, and then a live ranking is displayed for your crowd to see who is leading the game.

Crowdpurr trivia games offers three playback modes to choose from: Host Controlled Mode, Fully Automatic Mode, and Crowd Controlled Mode. Each mode offers different functionalities to deliver your trivia game to your crowd depending on the type of event and crowd you have. Yes, you can set a shorter or longer Question Timer for specific questions by editing the Per Question Timer prior to the live game.

If you'd like to edit the Question Timer during a live game and are using Host Controlled Mode, you can manually change the Question Timer mid-game. You must first pause the game, then change the Question Time. Advance to the next question, then resume the game.

If you wish to use Fully Automatic Mode, or if you would prefer to keep the scores separate, you can use the Next Round feature to bring your players to a separate trivia game with different Question Timer settings. You can then use Multi-Round Rankings to display their total scores across each game.

Yes. To do this, you should create a separate trivia game in Crowd Controlled Mode. Disabling the various Automatic Viewer Settings will allow your players to advance through the questions more quickly. You can also include as many questions as you like, up to a maximum of 100 questions per trivia game.

You can use Next Round and Multi-Round Scoring for a more seamless transition for your players.

When running your Lightning Round, set up a timer externally. Such as somewhere your players can either see and/or hear it, if you prefer. You can set the external timer for as long (or as short!) as you like. Start the Lightning Round and the timer at the same time. When the timer expires, either Pause or Finish the Lightning Round. This will lock in all of your players' answers, and they will be unable to answer any more questions.

As they will only receive points for correct answers, they simply will not receive points for any questions they fail to answer. You can also set the default Points Per Question to as low as 1 point to really force them to answer as many as possible.

When you create a trivia game, at a bare minimum, each player is required to enter a nickname on their mobile device. This is used by Crowdpurr to display each player's name on the Rankings Leaderboard, which you can enable on the Presentation View and Participant Views at any time. Our Seminar Plan also offers a feature to Auto-Generate Player Names based on fun family-friend word combinations (e.g. SkyDiver19, DaisyFlower4). This eliminates players being able to enter their own nicknames and possibly enter profanity.

You may also enable additional "lead capture" fields such as last name, email, address, etc. But at a minimum, a nickname must be input by each player to join the trivia game. You cannot play a Trivia Game anonymously.

Because every player enters at least a nickname, you can enable the Rankings Leaderboard at any time during your game (e.g. after each question, at the end of the game, etc.) to display the real-time live rankings on both the Presentation View and the Participant View (e.g. player devices). You can also view the rankings privately at all times via the Crowd Rankings tab on the Experience Dashboard.

The winner is whichever player is ranked first place when your game ends.

Yes. Under the trivia game Settings tab on the Experience Dashboard, there are "Team Mode Options" where you can enable your trivia game to use either "Individual", "Basic Team Mode", or "Advanced Team Mode". In Individual Mode, your players play and are ranked individually. In "Basic Team Mode", one player designated as the Team Captain joins the game on one device, enters a team name, and answers questions on behalf of the team. Teams are then ranked. In "Advanced Team Mode", all players join the game and choose a team from a list of available teams (created by the host) and play both individually and as a team. Crowdpurr offers 100% original pre-written trivia games based on popular trivia categories like Sports, Movies, Music, and Celebrities. To access our Trivia Library, simply create a new trivia game and use in the setup wizard.

Additionally, Crowdpurr allows you to write your own custom trivia game for your crowd based on your company, event, brand, co-workers, friends, family, etc. We encourage you to make it fun and personal! You can upload old photos of your co-workers and/or family members or pictures of funny events or places and incorporate those into your questions (e.g. Which boss is this when they were a whiny toddler?).

Ties are unlikely if you use Crowdpurr's Decreasing Points Timer. This awards players more points for answering correctly faster. When players answer wrong they can also lose points if you enable the Lose Points for Wrong Answers option. If your game has a variety of challenging questions, it is unlikely that different players/teams will have the exact same amount of points at the end of the game.

Additionally, Crowdpurr sorts by points first and then the number of questions a player or team answered correctly. So even if two players/teams have the same points, their rank would then be based on the number of questions answered correctly. We've added additional metrics to our ranking algorithm to avoid ties.

In the unlikely event there is a tie, Crowdpurr simply gives those players or teams an equal rank. So although it is unlikely, you could have more than one winner (or first-place ranking) or more than one player/team at any rank.

If you want to get really technical, if you have players who are tied with an equal rank, whoever is listed first, is who answered the most questions the fastest.

Yes! For Classroom Plan subscribers and higher, users have the ability to use the Question Import Tool to add, edit, and remove questions and answers directly on a CSV file spreadsheet to import directly into the trivia game. With this Question Import tool, you can import up to 100 questions at once from a spreadsheet. We recommend starting from our template file to have a general layout to follow, but you can create your own from scratch with your program of choice.

No. Our default trivia game experience uses a points-timer that awards players more points for answering correctly faster. If a player takes time to Google for the right answer, they will not win as many points versus a player who already knows the correct answer from their mad trivia knowledge. You can adjust the time for the Question Timer to your liking.

Additionally, each trivia question may only be answered once by each participant. So it does no good to try to use multiple devices to answer a trivia question more than once.

Lastly, if a participant resets their device and signs in again, they will lose whatever points they had already earned and thus have a lesser chance of winning.

In general, it's pretty hard for players to cheat. However, as a host, there are some settings you can use to make it more difficult for players who want to cheat. The easiest way to cheat is if you have your trivia game available to be played more than one time and the player can see the correct answers and then play again as a different player. Here are some tips about that:

Don't make your Question Timer overly long. This gives players time to Google for answers. Always make sure to use Decreasing Points Timer so players who do Google earn fewer points for the time it takes to Google. Otherwise, if you have a long Question Timer and aren't using Decreasing Points Timer, it would be easy to cheat and Google the answer and get full points.

If you have a trivia game's playback mode set to Fully Automatic Mode and have Restart experience Automatically enabled (i.e. looping mode) or you have a trivia game in Crowd Controlled Mode, then there's nothing that stops a player from playing multiple times. They can see the answers the first time around and then simply sign in again as a different player. To combat this, we recommend using Host Controlled Mode or Fully Automatic Mode with Restart experience Automatically disabled so the trivia game doesn't loop and cannot be played more than once. This prevents players from playing it over. We also recommend turning on the Email or Phone Number lead capture fields so you might recognize fake emails that are not from your organization (assuming you require an email from your organization). Anyone who plays more than once will have to enter a second email and you should be able to spot unknown email addresses if this is for your organization.

If you announce your trivia games ahead of time and use one of our Trivia Database games, those trivia games, questions, and correct answers are available for free to anyone who also creates a free account. So keep your upcoming topics, questions, and trivia games private until right before it's time to play.

No. If a player refreshes their browser, the time left to answer a trivia question and earn points does not reset. It loads the correct time from when the host initially started the question's points-timer.

As a host, you can select multiple correct answers for Multiple Choice trivia questions; however, players can only submit a single answer for each question and will then be awarded as normal for the correct answer. 

Text-Answer questions (or fill-in-the-blank) allow you to input more than one correct answer as alternative correct answers. So if you create a question such as "Who is the former Heisman Trophy running back who was tried for murdering his wife?" The correct answer you should input is "OJ Simpson". However, you should also add additional correct answer variations like "OJ", "O.J.", "O.J. Simpson", and "Simpson". Then if any of the above answers are entered by your crowd they will be considered correct. Any answers entered by your crowd are not case-sensitive.

Additionally, if a player submits a text answer that is correct but doesn't match one of your added correct answers (e.g. "The Juice"), you have the ability to "Mark As Correct" after it is submitted and this answer will be considered correct and award the player the points it should receive.

Yes, you can open as many Presentation Views as you like in separate browser tabs. Those tabs can then be dragged and put into full-screen mode on as many extended desktops as your display computer allows. Each connected external device will show up as an Extended Desktop on your computer.

If you want the multiple Presentation Views to display different views of your trivia game, make sure to disable Sync Presentation View on the Presentation View's lower-right-hand configuration menu. With this setting disabled, you can use the configuration menu to set what you want each Presentation View to display. You must disable Sync Presentation View each time you open a Presentation View.
